IL (EG) Energy Shopping Basics (IL-EG-100)


Description
Our licensed attorneys and regulatory experts carefully designed this course to teach students the basics of energy shopping in the State of Illinois.

This course consists of three parts, Part A, B and C. In Part A, entitled Customer Choice, we review the basics of retail electric and natural gas customer choice. In Part B, Regulators and Policy Advocates, students get introduced to the regulators and policy advocates within the State of Illinois. And in Part C, entitled Utilities and Customer Bills, the state's electric and natural gas utilities are identified, followed by a review of some sample utility bills.

In Part A, Customer Choice, the students learn about the following:
• Energy Shopping Basics
• Supply & Delivery
• Utility Standard Offer Service
• Competitive Supply Service
• Competitive Energy Supplier Products
• PlugIn Illinois Shopping Website

In Part B, Regulators and Policy Advocates, students get introduced to the regulators and policy advocates within the state including the following entities:
• Legislator
• Governor
• Regulators
• Attorney General
• Other Entities & Policy Advocates

In Part C, Utilities and Customer Bills, students get introduced to the electric and natural gas utilities. Part C covers the following:
• Identification of electric and gas utilities in the state
• Review sample utility bills
• Identify key bill components


This course takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.

The student takes a short quiz at the end of the course. On successful completion of the exam, the student receives a certificate.
